Terms of use

Signed Reader opens signed document files in your browser. It shows the document, who signed it and whether the signature holds. Opening and checking a file is free; downloading is paid.
The signature check is for information only. We check the signature itself and whether the certificate comes from an authority recognized in the EU or by ICP-Brasil, but not whether the certificate was revoked. It is not a qualified validation and doesn’t replace one where the law asks for it.
Payments go through Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our merchant of record. Polar sells you the purchase, charges your card, adds any sales tax or VAT and sends the receipt. Polar’s buyer terms apply to the payment.
A single-document purchase unlocks every download of that one file in the browser where you bought it. The 1-year plan covers as many files as you like for 12 months and doesn’t renew. The lifetime plan covers as many files as you like for as long as we run Signed Reader. Plans are linked to your email address, so you can restore them on another device.
If a file doesn’t open properly, write to support@signedreader.com within 14 days of buying and we’ll refund you.
Your files never leave your device. The privacy page explains what we do keep.
We provide Signed Reader as it is. We aren’t liable for decisions made on the basis of the signature check, or for indirect losses. None of this limits the rights consumer law gives you where you live.
We may change these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies. Questions: support@signedreader.com.
